Used Bunk Beds

It used to be a bunk bed was a convenient way for children to share a bedroom. In the old days, a bunk bed was simply two beds connect together, on above the other. They were made of different materials, have different styles, but were generally the same. Nothing fancy, just some where to sleep at night, especially for buyer who don't mind buying used bunk beds. There were a number of draw backs however. One is that since they were completely connected, that anyone moving around at night would wake the other person, and the bottom sleeper could hear if the upper person was awake or snoring. The second reason was, if they were made from wood, they were big and bulky, taking up almost the same amount of room as using two separate beds. If it was made from steel or other metal, it wasn't that stable.

It isn't like that any more. While you can find tandem beds, they are now available in a wide variety of different styles. Even the old conventional used bunk beds have been revamped, and now the bottom bunk as drawers that you can pull out for storing clothes, toys, or whatever else your child wants to put in them. There are night lights in the bottom part of the top bunk, so they can read while relaxing in their room.

There are also "L" shaped, and "T" shaped bunk beds. These styles are both space saving beds, because they have many features to offer. For one these shapes offer ample storage compartments and drawers, so there is no need for very much extra furniture. The "T" shape allows for storage on one side, and a desk area on the other. This desk area is ideal for you kids' computer, and all the space for homework, computer accessories, and even a light. These features are probably the best about these kinds of bunk beds, but that is not all. Manufacturers have also integrated lighter woods with the reinforcement of steel lag bolts and mounting hardware to create a sturdier, lighter weight bunk bed, one that can be put together over a short period of time.

So these beds now not only offer better sleeping arrangements, but also open up a bedroom more with more storage space for the kids. There are even some beds that are loft style beds. This is basically a bed on a platform, with storage space and a desk area built underneath. These beds are ideal when you have small bedrooms, because the bed is lifted off the floor. Whether you have one child in a small space, or two that have to share a room, these systems are the way to go.
